Chronic Fatigue Syndrome

November is Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month

Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month serves as a reminder of the importance of understanding, researching, and raising awareness about Alzheimer’s disease, a progressive neurodegenerative condition that affects millions of individuals and families around the world. Throughout the month of November, we encourage everyone to educate themselves, show compassion, and support those living with Alzheimer’s and other dementia-related illnesses.

What is Alzheimer’s Disease?

Alzheimer’s disease is a chronic brain disorder that progressively impairs memory, thinking, and behavior. As it advances, it can severely impact a person’s ability to carry out daily tasks. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, accounting for around 60-80% of all dementia cases. It primarily affects older adults, though early-onset Alzheimer’s can develop in people under the age of 65.

Symptoms often start with mild memory loss and confusion, which worsen over time. As the disease progresses, individuals may experience difficulty recognizing loved ones, trouble speaking, and losing the ability to perform everyday activities.

World Arthritis Day 2024: Raising Awareness and Empowering Lives

Each year, October 12th is recognized as World Arthritis Day — a day dedicated to raising awareness about arthritis, its impact on individuals and communities, and the importance of early diagnosis and effective management. In 2024, this global event will continue to shine a light on the millions of people living with arthritis, inspiring hope, understanding, and action.

What is Arthritis?

Arthritis is not a single disease, but rather a group of over 100 conditions that affect the joints and surrounding tissues. The most common forms include osteoarthritis (OA), rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis, and juvenile arthritis. Symptoms typically include joint pain, stiffness, swelling, and reduced mobility, which can make even simple daily tasks challenging. Though arthritis is often seen as a condition affecting older adults, it can affect people of all ages.
